اجتمع ممثلو حكومات لبنان وإسرائيل والولايات المتحدة الأميركية، اليوم الرابع عشر من تشرين الأول/أكتوبر لإطلاق المحادثات الهادفة إلى التوصل إلى توافق حول الحدود البحرية الإسرائيلية-اللبنانية المشتركة.
وذكر بيان مشترك صادر عن الحكومة الأميركية ومكتب المنسق الخاص للأمم المتحدة للبنان أن التوسط في المفاوضات وتيسير إجرائها تم بواسطة الفريق الأميركي بقيادة مساعد وزير الخارجية ديفيد شينكر والسفير جون ديروشور، باستضافة يان كوبيش المنسق الخاص للأمم المتحدة في لبنان.
ورأس الوفد الإسرائيلي أودي أديري المدير العام بوزارة الطاقة، ورأس الوفد اللبناني العميد بسام ياسين نائب رئيس أركان القوات المسلحة اللبنانية للعمليات.
وقال البيان المشترك إن المشاركين في الاجتماع الأولي أجروا محادثات بناءة وأكدوا التزامهم بمواصلة المفاوضات في وقت لاحق من الشهر الحالي.

Talks start on demarcating the maritime borders between Lebanon and Israel
On the fourteenth of October, representatives of the governments of Lebanon, Israel, and the United States of America met to launch talks aimed at reaching consensus on the joint Israeli-Lebanese maritime borders.
A joint statement issued by the US government and the Office of the United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon stated that the mediation and facilitation of the negotiations were carried out by the American team led by Assistant Secretary of State David Schenker and Ambassador John DeRuchor, hosted by Jan Kubisch, the UN Special Coordinator in Lebanon.
The Israeli delegation was headed by Udi Adiri, Director General of the Ministry of Energy, and the Lebanese delegation was headed by Brigadier General Bassam Yassin, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Lebanese Armed Forces for Operations.
The joint statement said that the participants in the initial meeting held constructive talks and confirmed their commitment to continue negotiations later this month.
