Bloodshed of martyrs
how many of us
remember?
splattered blood sunk
in the earth, which is
bearing us -
the so-called present
generation that's
comprising of Gen -x
and millennials,
who are bearing the fruits
of independence,
sovereignty hasn't come
in a jiffy, which is known
to many but then why
is it hard to some,
to recall those who lied down
their lives for our liberty,
ain't we remain mute in their
honour for a moment to appease
the souls who never sobbed,
even opening their chest to bullets
In remembrance of same
I salute eternal combatants.
